Stop Acting So Small. You Are The Universe In Ecstatic Motion. ~ Rumi
When we're told "don't look behind at all or they'll be suspicious." We turn and we look behind.
When we're told "act naturally." We will definitely act everything but unnatural and weird.
Don't you see this too? We tend to break rules. If we're told not to do something, we do that exact thing. And do you know why, does this happen? It's just because of the word 'not.' This notorious three letter word can control the actions of a damn human being.
Powerful.
And do we know why does it achieve such a feat?
We know.
It's just so simple. It challenges us. It tells us that we aren't supposed to/meant to/shouldn't do/ cannot do the specific task.
By challenging us, by telling us that there is a restriction to us, it angers us. And it is a natural reflex to do that exact thing we're told not to do. By accomplishing the goal of doing something which we're not supposed to do, we win the feeling of limitlessness.
'They told me I can't do it, yet I did it.'
'I shouldn't have done it, yet I did it.'
It's natural to feel, to seek ways to become unlimited. Because that is our ultimate reality. Our true form. We're all unbounded.
That's why we crave freedom. That's why crave immortality.
Life is all about finding those ways in which you can quench the thirst of feeling limitless.
And for each one of us, this freedom lies in different materialistic forms.
Some think that becoming rich will make them infinite.
Some think knowledge will make them infinite.
Some think their art will make them infinite.
Some think that physical power will make them infinite.
And a lot more.
We keep trying to find paths to achieve a stable configuration. That stable configuration in which our mind, our actions, our existence is nothing different but the same after all.
If our destination is so beautiful and infinite, then why do we get tangled in the illusion of minute problems?
Why do we limit ourselves by saying 'this is me', 'this is mine', 'this is for myself.'
Is it because just knowing that you're a part of infinity, infinity itself, is not enough? Is this knowledge not enough?
It indeed is not enough.
Knowledge has no value till it is accepted.
Acceptance is a virtue when you accept the right thing.
We just don't accept that we are indeed unlimited, or we can be unlimited. We just know this fact, we've never accepted it.
We're still far lost in me, myself and mine.
Just for a minute, imagine that these three steel chains are broken. What if you're not yourself, but you're everything and nothing?
And when we finally accept this, that we're infinity indeed, we take our first step towards becoming limitless.
Once you accept that you are a part of everything and everything indeed, problems won't be such a big issue.
Those same things which make you angry, sad, frustrated will not trouble you.
With acceptance comes enlightenment.
With enlightenment comes understanding.
And you'll understand what's the difference between right and wrong, dark and light.
And you'll realize that there's no meaning to right if there's no wrong.
And the moment you realize this, you'll understand that there's everything in the world but nothing, and vice versa.
You'll realize that what matters is balance.
And when you get introduced to balance, you'll overcome all the barriers.
You'll realize that the universal set is the absolute truth. Plain, simple, truth.
And you'll have two very important subsets of truth to guide you.
You'll have an unbounded identity and a balanced existence.
And then I'll find you slowly smiling; humming and singing in your backyard. Under the pretty sun.
'And I think to myself, what a wonderful world...'
